What does the curriculum for your subject aim to achieve?
- To embed Christian values and the attributes needed to enable pupils to lead a happy and successful life (see school Christian values).
- To provide pupils with an inspirational PSHE curriculum with high quality teaching at the heart.
- To promote equality of opportunity to ensure that all pupils know that difference is a positive, not a negative, and ensure that children feel valid and accepted for who they are.
- To ultimately create lifelong learners with valuable life skills.
- To embed a firm understanding of the PSHE themes of Relationships, Living in the Wider World and Health and Wellbeing.
- For pupils to know how to keep safe by making informed and sound decisions when facing risks and challenges, including online.
- To ensure our pupils flourish in an ever changing and diverse society and understand the importance of inclusion.
- To develop responsible, respectful and active citizens who are able to play their part and become actively involved in public life as adults.
- To develop and deepen the understanding of the fundamental British values.
- To develop pupils’ confidence, resilience and knowledge so that they can keep themselves mentally healthy and ensure children are able to communicate their needs.
- To develop pupils’ understanding of being physically healthy, eating healthily and maintaining an active lifestyle.
- To help our pupils understand what they need to succeed and achieve careers that they aspire to.
