Our E-Safety Team are responsible for leading-safety developments throughout school including running assemblies, and planning Safer Internet Day activities for the whole school. We meet once per month to share ideas and plan next steps. Two of our members have attended police training this year and are official E-Safety Officers, sharing important information gained with their peers.
The E Safety Team have ensured that our school E Safety messages are prominent around school on posters in each classroom and in both the girls and boys toilets. They have talked to classes about the NSPCC Pants Rule, Sid’s Top Tips and the SMART rules.
The E Safety Team have prepared and held a special E Safety assembly which took place on Safer Internet Day with the theme “Be the change, unite for a better internet.” This year’s important messages were all about the safe use of images and video online, all children followed this up further throughout the day as part of their class online safety curriculum. Children watched NSPCC and CEOP videos to highlight the dangers and use for points of discussion and learning.
A survey about children’s online use has also been completed by the team, this is being used to inform the teachers about the learning needs for their class.
We are the E-Safety team and we are here to help children learn how to stay safe online and on electronic devices. We will:
- meet once per month
- talk to our class about E-Safety
- share anti bullying messages
- plan assemblies
- attend training
- answer other children’s questions
- provide support and help
- review and update the website
