Our Global Awareness Team this year will be involved in planning and celebrating different multi cultural festivals around the world. Their role will involve planning and leading worship, and coordinating learning activities across school.
The calendar of dates and events is used to plan special learning and worship throughout the year. We celebrate three events as a school, with different classes linking their learning to the other celebrations.
The whole school enjoyed a special Diwali day with children dressing in Diwali colours and the Global Awareness Team leading a special worship assembly at the start of the day for all of the children.
St George’s Day & British Values Day
The whole school came dressed in red, white and blue on this day, the children had a special assembly in the morning, with learning linked to England and British values throughout the day. Our Christian values play an important part in all of our learning.
Masizani Day and Nelson Mandela Day
We are very lucky to have a special link with Masizani Primary School in South Africa. Our teachers have visited South Africa and we have welcomed their teachers to our school. This links provides lots of opportunities for us to find out about life in South Africa and the similarities and differences between our two cultures. Our school will celebrate Nelson Mandela Day in the Summer Term. Click on the link to find out more about Nelson Mandela.
